Medicine For Melancholy (2008) This movie was awesome. It’s about two strangers who have a one night stand, but end up having one of the best days of their lives. I love the way it was shot, the colors, and the story.
"A love story of bikes and one-night stands told through two African-American twenty-somethings dealing with the conundrum of being a minority in a rapidly gentrifying San Francisco"
"Medicine for Melancholy. This Romantic-comedy starring Wyatt Cenac and Tracey Hemmings was filmed in San Francisco by Florida filmmakers Barry Jenkins (writer/director) and Justin Barber (producer). Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Barber will be on hand after the screening to field questions from the audience and discuss their filmmaking process. NY Times film critic A.O. Scott named Medicine for Melancholy one of his Top Ten films of the decade. Barry Jenkins was featured on the cover of Filmmaker Magazine last April and recently named by them as one of the top 25 Directors around the world to watch in 2010.”
